Front end sag

Post by Rzza »

I noticed after jacking up the front end and then moving to the rear end that the front sits close to two inches lower than the rear end. Is this proper? I cannot locate the specs through google, a friend says it could be the coil springs in front are sagging but he is unsure weather the Vibe should sag in front. Thanks.

You can start here: http://workshop-manuals.com/pontiac/vib ... nspection/

You can dig around to find the spec. It will at least give you an idea of the things to check. As a general rule of thumb, the lower control arms should be level at the pivot points. If the center pivot point is lower then the outer lower ball joint pivot then the springs may be weak. My old mini van with 150k miles had the springs worn out with the drivers side worse then the passenger side, which is typical for then old car. I just bought some rubber spring spacers at the parts store and wedged them in the spring to lift the front end back up as the old rusty van was not worth buying new springs for.
