Ticket

Post by Merzbow »

HAHA, my first ticket, not for speeding, not for racing, but for my red underbody kit. I was on my way to Pet Supplies Plus to get some kitten food. I was literally about 5 feet from the store and I heard the "WEEOOP WEEOOP" and the lights reflecting off of everything like I was surrounded by 90 cop cars. I was as polite and coopertive as humanly possible, and he was nice too, he wasn't being a (removed) about it. So, I was a little shaken up and angered at the same time cause that meant my mom would make me take off my underbody kit....but all is well now thanks to a friend

Were you driving with them on? Cause that atracts a lot of attention- Especially the unwanted kind that you encountered today- But I take it you got out of the ticket? Next time you will just have to be on the lookout a lil more

is it illegal to have the kit? if it is, why were you angered? you should have known it was coming sooner or later.

That is a tough choice- and in Michigan it is illegal for any neon lights to be outside your car while it is being operated- So yeah it was coming for him

It's rape for a 16-year old to have (removed) with someone under 18 also? I don't know the laws on that. Honestly though, How many of you waited until you were after 18? I think asking a 16 year old boy to wait to have (removed) for two years isn't going to go over to well.

it depends on the law but i know in pa as long as you are both 14 and not more then 4 years apart it is ok ie 14+18=ok 16+20=ok 16+21 is not ok you get the idea this site gives a rundown http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm

I always thought it was legal to have the neon underbody kit so long as no part of the bulb itself was exposed.

I know we can't have the neon license plate frames, because that's ALL exposed bulb. But I've really wanted some nice blue underbody lights to match my car...I just don't want to invest in it and end up with a ticket. :

Hey Bubba!!!!!BTW, if your gf knew you were talking about getting it on with her, I bet she would be very upset. Some words of advice to ya.. Don't be so harsh on the young lad. He is a good looking scrapper that deserves a little stink finger from time to time. I remember being young driving around in the hotrod and there is only one thing on my mind when I would flirt with the girls. I did not have (removed) with everyone I met but you remember what was going through your mind everytime you saw a hot girl. I should probably go down to CJ Barrymore's in my cutlass and find the young lad for a race. Maybe I can get laid too. Oops forgot about the wife. Maybe she can help with that.

That would be a good place for a meet as well. I like that new McDonald's there. Old style 50's look. I could come straight down north ave. Not far from me. Gettin freekin cold out there though. I was going to take the olds out for the weekend but my heater relay took a dump. Convertable tops leak cool air like a river. I see that you are an honest fellow who wants others to learn from your mistakes. Paul will learn plenty of things within the next 5 years. Most of all he will learn how mean girlies can be if they do not have the right morals. Enough of that. I am not going there. All of the ladies on here will beat me with a stick.

well, reading the post, i'm not really sure that's what he meant by it. was a little confused.here, the legal age is 16. they have commercials and radio spots on all the time. the military guys even get briefed upon their arrival. by law, any adult that knows of an underage having (removed) is required to report it. so, if the folks get ticked off at the boyfriend, they call the cops and he gets booked for statutory rape. automaticly gets you on the (removed) offender list. not that it still stops anyone, but it can definitely screw your future up if you're young. so word to the wise and young, be careful and make sure you think it through. lots of nasty things out there that are irreversable. my ex-hubby and i waited until we were married, 22 yrs. i don't regret it at all, but can tell you it's much harder to say no than yes. good luck to you!

Yeah I though (removed) was legal unless the bulbss were visible but aparently not. The cop her ein Michigan told me all neons were illegal. It's not that big of an investment. I only paid $75 for mine, its the same quality ads the street glow GOLD series. And the little amount of time you get to use it is well worth that money in my opinion, even worth the ticket...And yes I am aware it would be rape if I had (removed), but I don't care, and I agree, I doubt you were 18+ when you first did it If she gets pissed and tells I rape her then oh well, my mistake Ill just take my punishment like a man

$75 is a lot of money to spend on something I'd really never get to use...And the rape thing is a spot that would never come off. You'd be on the (removed) offender list for the rest of your life.

What I meant by sarcastic remark was that he doesn't believe anything bad will ever happen to him. While he knows the consequences, he does what he wants because he believes the consequences happen to other people, not to him.I thought the same way when I was 16-20-something. I street raced all over. Sure I knew I could be killed or kill someone but back then that could never happen to ME. That happens to OTHER PEOPLE. It's not 'till later you understand reality.

Well, I've always been mature for my age...but also, I was never one to just say "f you" to my parents and do whatever I wanted. Even to this day, I don't want to go get my eyebrow pierced just because my mom doesn't like the idea. Even though she's told me that she knows she can't stop me...it's psychological...I'm stopping myself because she doesn't like it. I never was that rebellious teen...LOLBut I do think the "invincible" thing is more common in guys than girls.

I agree partly what Nova is saying. It is nice that you are trying to give him advice but he did not ask for it. His mom seams to be doing just fine. He has plenty of people telling him what to do. We can all let him know that we did it and have experience doing it and please learn from our mistakes. Just like a new flavor of pop. Gotta try it once to see if you like it. He is a smart guy and can realize that there are other things to wrry about out there too. Drugs he obviously is not into. If he was the officer would have not bothered him about the lights. With the new laws concerning drinking and driving what I did Friday could have put me in jail. I had two beers with a steak dinner. The new laws will make me over the legal limit to drive. I remember being 18 and able to drink in Wisconsin and Canada. There was less binge drinking. It is crazy out there. Now I can not even enjoy a good meal unless I am home or at a friends house to "sober up" before I go home. What a freeking joke. Paul has to worry about rape/drunk driving/drugs/girls with attitude/officers with attitude. I do not wish it upon my enemies to grow up in this day and age. It sucks especially for those of you who are old enough to remember a different way. Kids will be kids and I guess we do not want them to be kids.

Although some of Merzbow's posts are painful for me to read (hey dude street racing man!) i also have to stand up for the guy. I was 16 when i got intimate with a 15 year old and it flourished into a relationship that has been standing for 4 years now and marriage is not an absurd idea to either of us.....its just on the backburner. He now knows the legalities of it and the rest is down to him. Merzbow - your decision; choose wisely.heres a pic of us shortly after we got together (all i have in digital-dont have a scanner)We have both changed a great deal, but our feelings remain.

unless you weigh 20 lbs, i seriously doubt that you're BAC would be .08 (the lowest limit i know of) after 2 beers. the only reason you would be even tested is if you acted somewhat drunk, can you handle 2 beers? we would all love to be an outlaw, but give me a break.

I know a guy who lost his license for 2 years as a result of a repeat DUI/DWI. He became a real pain having to beg rides everywhere, but deserved to be taken off the road. I'd go nuts if I lost my license. A discussion of the merits/hassles of the DUI/DWI laws is probably plenty of fodder for it's own thread. I misread your post and thought you were saying that you drove with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit. The consequences of that can be much more severe than flaunting to the cops that you have illegal modifications on your car.

it's amazing how screwed up the system is: if you have enough money, you can get out of dui multiple times, then you're back on the road swerving once again.

Yeah Drunkenvibe the legal limit is 2 beers now. New laws are going to be passed that will make the legal limit less than 2 beers. You can have one 12oz beer and drive fine but if you have that 2nd one you need to legally sit for an hour before you can drive home. It is crazy. Not trying to start an argument but I believe that the laws are so strict with drinking and driving(which I think is good) that an honest man out with family at dinner legally can only have one drink with his meal. Maybe if I was at Macdonald's would I only have one drink which is 22oz or bigger. This law could kill some Microbrewery's and fine dining establishments. I have already discussed this with family and friends (which a few are police officers). I have decided not to drink at all while I am out unless my wife drives home. Not worth it to even try once the law changes. I could loose my job/house/wife/child for drinking two beers at dinner. Let me know which one of those you would chose. At home watching college football 2 beers are gone before game time. I am sure that drunkenvibe could appreciate that.

The logical approach is to work at improving the apprehension rate of those who really ARE impaired, rather than intimidating law-abiding citizens into a new era of self-imposed prohibition by progressively lowering the legal limit to Parts Per Million, where you could be "impaired" by inhaling while driving by a brewery!

ok you say 2 beers. what does that bac come to? you don't exactly look like you starve, i would find it hard to imagine that would be enough to be illegal. as far as i know, .08 is currently the lowest limit. i could be wrong though...

I had an officer let me take a breathalizer after having two beers. I like mine strong from a micro brewery. 5.6% just like an ice beer.I drank them within 45-50 minutes. I even had a cigar to make the beer last longer. You are correct drunkenvibe in the assumption that I enjoy life and hearty beers. I exercise but it does not matter. Life is good to me. A typical large scottish guy ready to drink a keg. Obviously two beers does not make me feel funny at all. I took the test and blew a .09 which would have been enough for me to get a DUI. I could not believe it. The officer (friend) told me a good rule of thumb is 1 1/2 to 2 beers every hour. Since I drink a hearty beer I need to be careful. So I ordered another pitcher and had a few more. I was already over my limit to drive and I did not feel like sitting in a wonderful microbrewery and drink pop. My friend drove us home. Only had one beer to show what his alcohol content was. It is scary what the laws are now. I am a good size guy at 250lbs 5'10" with a 54" chest. I look like a nose tackle. The law a few years ago was .1 now it is .08 That makes quite the difference. Drunkenvibe you take care. Also to all of the Vibe meets. Drive all day to a meet and enjoy a couple of beers after a hot day in the sun then (accidents happen). I am not saying an officer will pull you over just to see if you are drunk. I am saying for example you are at a light waiting for it to change and some A-hole behind you taps you and damages a tailight. An officer driving by stops to help and smells beer on your breath. yada yada your done. The chances of this happening are slim to none. Just trying to make a point. I am not quesitoning me being able to drink 2 beers for dinner. I will just have to time myself and stay if I am going to have 2. If the service is slow or we are there a long time then ok. I am not going to risk it. I hope that I have shed some light on the subject. Just wait until the laws change from .08 to .06 That is 1 beer period. If we think its bad here try Europe. Do not even think about driving and going to a bar. I remember being in Scottland and going to a pub. There was a guy that was arrested before he got back into his car. That scared me to death. We drove to the pub and took a cab home. That could have been me and I did not know it.

wow, that was very descriptive. i know that with a name like drunkenvibe, it conjures up images of an alcoholic swerving around in his vibe, singing reo speedwagon songs at the top of his lungs, but i don't. durring the week, i limit myself to 1 or 2 per hour. on the weekend, i have no abandon, but i always stay the night where i drink. remind me to never go to scotland.

Yes I have learned my lessons over the years as well. I now live in a small town where I can walk home from the restaurant or bar. I would rather stay home if I am going to drink. I have saved a ton of money. Now I barely drink. Damn I am loosing weight. Time for another trip to Scottland. You would like it there. Just have to remember to not waste money renting a car.

gee not sure what to comment on first..... Let see this post stated out about a ticket for illegal neon lights and has prgressed into the Dr. Ruth's (removed) show..1. Have to agree with meathead333.... if it's illegal why get mad and not sure how friend got you out of the ticket but if I was you I would remove them anyway..... cause your gonna get caught again...2. Again agree with a few people here. A true gentleman never talks about those things. Especially with people you hardly know. And to all those BCers neons are illegal here even if they are not on....ps Cari.... they sell them so people can put them on their show cars not on their street cars.oh ya if your gonna do which i am sure you will...... be carefull you do not have enough money to buy a car yet let alone support a child...
