Hey guys,
been lurking for a little while now, decided I better post up here before asking more technical questions elsewhere.

I had a nice corolla that I loved for its economy that was totalled in a collision (not my fault) a few days before Christmas.

SO I was in the market for another efficient car but was looking for something sportier and something I could enjoy driving. Which led me here!

I picked up an 2003 Black Monotone 5 Speed a few weeks ago and have been cleaning and fixing up issues with it as I go along.
Its got 175k miles on it. grabbed it for $2300 bucks which Im happy with. After a good cleaning, the interior is a nice place to be. I spend a few hours a day in my car with work, so I needed to like the space I was in.

The exterior is a little beat up tho :(

I need to fix the clicking issue inside the dash when I dont have the recurculating air button turned on. As well as fix the hood latch (all gummed up) and I need to find a fix for the clutch safety button not working properly, but those are topics for another thread!

Looking forward to my time here, and Im so thankful you guys have such an awesome wealth of knowledge and posts here. Ive spent hours reading through stuff!

Ooops on the dash cam. That's pretty darn good evidence.

Welcome to GenVibe. Thanks for the pix and video. It looks like your Vibe is a lucky one as you will take care of it much more so than the previous owner(s).

Welcome! Ouch on the video. I'm so careful at intersections I always assume someone is hiding ready to jump out in front of me, and I don't want to have my cars taken from me if I can avoid it. Looks like you've made a good start on it, and best of luck with your new Vibe!

Why don't you describe your set up. Make a new thread.

X2 on that suggestion. Oh, BTW ... Welcome to GenVibe :D That was a mod I wanted to put in my work van so that I could record all the "near misses" that I encounter daily with all the A S S holes on the road. Good luck on the new to you vibe and I hope the transmission is holding up well, assuming that it is the original 5-speed.

Welcome to GenVibe! That's some video! Thank goodness no one was seriously injured. Thanks for posting pictures of your Vibe right away. It's not too bad looking considering you only paid $2300. It's nice to hear that you're already fixing and cleaning it up. Are you wanting to do any mods to it? Keep us posted on any maintenance and / or mods you do.
