need opinion fast on a possible Vibe buy!

Post by canadave »

Hi folks,

I might be in the market for a Vibe, and I'm wondering what the deal is with this one (price is in Canadian dollars, so US equivalent would be around $3,200 USD):

It's got a sunroof. Is this a base model, or GT...? The seller doesn't know. I didn't think any Vibe's came with sunroofs from factory...am I mistaken?

And would welcome opinions on whether this is a good deal.

There were no GT or AWD vehicles offered in the 2007 (or 2008) model year. Also, all 2003-2006 GT's are manual transmission- this one's an auto. There's no "GT" next to the side name plate either.

The factory moon roof was offered as part of the Moon and Tunes package that included a subwoofer in the hatch on the passenger side.

The ad sounds good and the car seems well maintained, but you'll lose the odometer in less than 70,000 km...

230,000 kms seems high to me for CDN $4000. Instead here's a dealer 'wholesaler' with a similar black Vibe base with 158,000km for CDN $3565.

Thanks RadioFreeVibe, unfortunately that dealer Vibe is a manual, not automatic. Nice looking car though.

That doesn't sound like a bad price or too high mileage to me. If it's clean and has the maintenance history like it says, I'd snap it up.

I am with Mark on this one. Make sure he used the proper fluid (Toyota T-IV) when he serviced the transmission. If I understand it right you also get a set of winter wheels. And why not haggle a little?
