Hello everyone, I just bought a 04 GT.It does have 150k miles on it, but it was my buddy's mom's car and she drover it to work, so mostly highway miles.I just did an oil change, spark plugs and air filter. But it has a exhaust leak and I'm hoping it's just the doughnut gasket, it as I loud tip tip tip when get on gas.any pointers about the car in general would bgreatly appreciated, thanks
Welcome. Find some time and start digging around here and the matrix forums for tons of information regarding the Vibe. Overall, reliable cars w/character and w/a few mods can really clean up the handling of this tall wagon.

Thanks, but do you think that's were the exhaust leak is and is it common? Also with performance. Is a CAI any good or should I just go with drop in k&n.
Welcome to GenVibe! I'm of no help when it comes to your exhaust leak since I have a 2nd gen (2009-2010) Vibe GT, but we love pictures around here, so definitely post some of your "new" Vibe when you get a chance. Also, add your location to your profile. One of us could be your neighbor.
Regarding intakes, I have a K&N Typhoon short ram air intake on my 2009 Vibe GT and I absolutely love it. I have seen a modest 1-2 MPG increase in my gas mileage (once I got over the initial phase of stepping on the accelerator pedal to hear the new louder sound of the engine). It's all a matter of opinion though. I prefer an intake to a drop in filter, but others here will disagree. In the end, you really can't go wrong with either one, just don't expect a huge horsepower increase from either one because it won't happen.

Welcome and congrats on your new Vibe GT! You should have lots of miles left in it, as 150K is nothing on these cars. Mine has over 214K. I don't know much about the exhaust, even though I just did a clutch job a couple of months ago, and saw that the exhaust was all in one piece so chances are it would only be at the manifold or the joint.
Good luck on it!

Thanks to every. I bought a donut gasket, and will install it after the snow leaves OHIO.I will try to put up pictures soon.the car needs a little cleang.also Im thinking about 16s.I'm not a fan of having rubber bands around my wheels.any suggestions on tires size.
So do I! We can be a two car club! lol Where in Cbus? I live on the SW side, now, near Clime/Demorest. Hadn't realized where you lived until you mentioned Ohio above.
I think I may have the slightest exhaust leak myself. But I feel like may be coming from near the exhaust manifold. Was too hard to figure out on my own at the time. I had it lifted to install struts, etc, but needed someone on the accelerator while I looked.
