Replacement Radiator

Post by jaredjones »

Hi all:

I have a 2005 Manual 6-speed Vibe GT. I replaced my starter last week and noticed my radiator needed to be replaced. After researching prices I bought one online. When I removed the old radiator I noticed that it was different than my new one. The new one has two metal tubes on the radiator that I assume are to attach transmission coolant lines for the automatic transmission models. I went back and tried to find a replacement without the transmission line connectors and couldn't. My local auto parts stores say that it is the only one available.

Should I just install the new one and leave the caps on those tubes unconnected to anything? Will that cause any future problems?

You can just cap them, it should be perfectly fine. MWR sells a 2-row radiator for manuals for $149 or so.
