Thinking about trading 2009 base (1.8) for an AWD

Post by kumquat »

I have an 09 base 1.8L right now with about 120,000 miles. I'm thinking it about selling it and getting a 2009+ Vibe or Matrix AWD with similar or lower miles.

Is there anything in particular I should look for when checking out the 2.4L AWD models? Oil leaks, anything with the rear drivetrain, etc?

I currently have a 2010 Vibe AWD and by far it has been one of the best vehicles I've owned. I bought it new in August of '09 and I have just over 40,000 miles on it with zero problems except for the gas pedal and air bag recalls which were both taken care of. Your gas mileage will drop slightly from the 1.8 but you'll have quite a bit more get up and go with the larger engine.

Cool, thanks.

Anyone know anything about how a ~2008 Impreza would compare?
