vibrologist wrote:About the differential: Is it separate from the transaxle? Or do you refer to the rear differential of an AWD? Thanks for clarification.
BTW you just wrote my "to do list" come Spring.
I forget sometimes the Vibes are front wheel drive. So yes in that case it would only apply to the AWD.
bountybuddy wrote:Triz maybe I can get a quality transmission fluid filter through Toyota for the 2004 Toyota Matrix. The 1.8L base engine for both the Vibe and Matrix are the same motor. I sure hope so. I was going to buy all this stuff through Auto Parts Warehouse. I'm also thinking of replacing all of the belts and hoses, just to be on the safe side. On my last birthday I turned 70. My body isn't as flexible as it once was. Good chance I will have to pay someone to do the work on my 2004 Vibe. Hopefully they will have a reasonable price for doing it. I can't thank you enough for your help my friend. Watch out for the crazy drivers. Drive safe my friend. May all your paths be bright ones.
Wix is a quality filter. I just found out the only place listed was Oreillys. I usually carry them but could not find one on my website. So you could use Wix or an OEM filter from Mr. T. You can space out the cost by staggering the services.
The transmission service is probably one that benefits from an early change.
