Oh god. That's so gross. And it's at Bristol, too. And in the terrace seats, no less. If he wants to be a redneck he can come sit in my seat and I'll take his nice comfortable one.
Tickets to Bristol are hard to come by, even for someone who already has them. The best thing to do is to call the ticket office and ask when they are going to put the non-renewed tix on sale.A fellow Tony fan, are you?

There are packages you can buy though for the entire race weekend which is what I might have to do to go.quote:A fellow Tony fan, are you? Oh yeah, very much so. He is my 2 1/2 year old's favorite as well.

Yeah most of them are season ticket packages...not only for the whole weekend but for both races...spring and fall. They're real strict about them though...you can't transfer tickets to anybody else if you decide you don't want them anymore, so you can't just give them to a friend. You'd have to continue to put up the money every year and let your friend buy them from you. But there ARE some people who don't renew, so it'd be worth a call to see when it's happening this year.
that's not true Little E and Tony are really close friends actually. Tony drove jr's bush car this year. I had a great time at Dover last weekend we sat in turn turn and had 3 accidents right in front of us it was the best race I've been to up there in a long time. Next month I go up there to drive 10 laps on the track in a busch car.
I shocked some people the year Earnhardt spun out Terry Labonte and actually succeeded in winning the August race... The 3 fans behind me were all going,"How 'bout that win!" and I turned around and went "Bull! That's not a win! That was cheating!" The guy next to me's eyes went real wide like he couldn't believe this 5'2" teenage girl was letting loose on a bunch of 30-something drunk men...but I did. And they shut up too.
I remember that race. That sucked the way Labonte got spun out. I don't think I ever heard louder boos at Bristol except when Rubberhead one the night race in August. On probation and still running people over with no penalty for it. I don't think Jimmy Spencer punched him hard enough. (j/k)

I maintain that that was not RUBBING. That was blatant HITTING with the intent to do exactly what he did. Not very sportsmanlike. I don't care if his name is Earnhardt. And you are a statistical anomaly, liking both...LOL
No...Harvick rubs and people say he's malicious. ANYONE other that Dale Earnhardt does it and people are ready to crucify them, but if it was Dale Earnhardt then's it's okay.
That's what I wonder as well. WHY is it okay? Just because of his name?I really don't think Dale Jr. is THAT talented of a driver...if his name was Joe Schmo he'd probably be around the same popularity level as Ward Burton. Don't get me wrong, I love Ward, but he's an average driver. So is Jr.*ducks from the onslaught of angry Jr. fans*
Absolutely. He wasn't called "the intimidator" for nothing. He was a very confident driver...and he got a lot of places by simply bulling his way in there, rather than using actual driving skill to get in there WITHOUT hitting someone else.Boy I am stirring the pot now...LOL
Well, I sometimes think I *do* have a mild form of ADD as I have MAJOR focus problems especially when reading...but have no problem watching racing. Here's a trick: pick a driver. It could be because his number is your lucky number, his car is your favorite color, your favorite make, you like his name, whatever. Just pick someone and root for them. It really makes the race a lot more exciting.
i could be a race announcer"oh, it looks like... YES! he is, he's going to make another left turn, what a strategy go go go! boy, i haven't seen this much circle action since i watched the dryer tumble!"
chew aura pizza cheat main"the world in my hands, there's noone left to hear you scream, noone's there for you"
I'm not going to say anything. Dale Jr is more talented then many of the other current drivers. Honestly I don't think driving talent is a big deal in nascar. Now the teams that have the better funding equipment ands pit crews seem to do beeter. I mean Honestly? how hard is it to drive 400 circles in a day?
Sorry, thought this was funny. Written by: FluxcoreSunday kicked off the start of the NASCAR season. Big freaking deal. This may be the most assinine sport I have ever witnessed. I am not even positive it is a sport.I attended one of these events a few summers ago. Talk about redneck heaven. 150,000 in the place, with a collective IQ of 200 and I had 120 of it. Not to mention the guys behind us that were drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Or the lady that was next to us. Her favorite racer passed a guy for the lead on lap 20 (of 200 mind you), and about had an orgasm. I wanted to turn to her and tell her there are 180 more laps left, but was afraid she might ***** slap me with a six pack of Schlitz.OK, enough about the fans. They would still be white trash without NASCAR. First of all, NASCAR has their biggest race of the year, on THE FIRST WEEKEND OF THE SEASON! How dumb is that? Imagine the NFL playing the Super Bowl on the first weekend of play? How about the World Series in April? I mean come on. "Here is out biggest race of the year. Now go watch all of our ****ty races the rest of the year." Another thing that gets me is the fact, a race can be won under the yellow flag. For those of you not up to NASCAR terminology. A yellow flag comes out when there is an accident. It means everyone circles the track at a reduced speed, and you can not pass anyone. Thats right folks, you can win a race, without any competition.Racing is not a sport. The drivers are not athletes. Sure it takes some endurance to endure a 500 mile race. Takes a little skill to maneuver the car around the track. But the car is doing the work. It would take me far less time to learn how to drive a car 200 mph then it would to play quarterback in the NFL and learn to pick up a weak side blitz and find the hot read. It's not like the other car's are going 55 mph. I often hear drives say they feel safer on the track, then on the streets. Of course they do, everyone is going the same speed, you don't have to look out for that moron running the red light, and there is no on coming or cross traffic. Also, there isn't much strategy involved in racing. I keep waiting to turn on the pre-race show and see this interview:Reporter: "Billy Bob, what is your strategy for this race?"Billy Bob: "Well Gomer, I think I will go fast and turn left"Reporter: "Brilliant Billy Bob. Well folks, with strategical planning like that, it's no wonder Billy Bob has won the Pabst shootout four times in a row."I will say this about NASCAR and its participants. I have never heard of one of them involved in, wife beating, drugs, murder, drinking and driving or anything of that type. In other leagues you are lucky to go a week without hearing one of their players mentioned in one of the above scandals. And a race is one big party atmosphere. People stay on the grounds all weekend in RV's and just have a good time. The is rather boring, but it's a good party.I don't want to see NASCAR go away or anything like that. I just want people to stop calling it a sport. Now pass the beef jerky and a Pabst, the race is coming on.

yeeehaw! ethel, get me my teeth, we's goin' to nascar!! woohoo! i can't wait till everyone sees the big 3 i put on the back of my pick em up!!before anyone gets mad, this is the humor forum, i'm not making fun of you because you like nascar, i'm just having a laugh

quote: I mean Honestly? how hard is it to drive 400 circles in a day?Why don't you go try it and then report back to us and let us know just how easy it was to wrestle a car around a track like Bristol 500 times with temperatures inside the car around 150 degrees plus, with a 6-layer nomex firesuit on and a helmet? Trust me, it's harder than 99% of the population thinks. It's a very physical sport, requires you to be in tip-top physical conditioning just like any other sport. If you have no endurance, you won't go far in NASCAR.Everybody likes to get a good jab in on NASCAR...say it's not a sport, or worse a redneck sport. NASCAR is a high dollar business now. The rednecks are becoming fewer and further between because they can't afford a ticket to an event, as the prices continue to rise. You see people in suits and ties in the suites. The drivers are no longer the "good ol boys" of the past...they come from all areas of the country and must be intelligent, articulate individuals as well as skilled drivers. This sport is a lot different than it used to be...I know no offense is intended, as this is the humor forum...but it seems a lot of people have a misconception about what NASCAR is really all about.
tip top condition? i don't know...i bet there is not a nascar driver alive that could last more than 5 minutes under the strain of hockey or football- i'll be glad to argue with you as long as we remain civil towards each other
chew aura pizza cheat main"the world in my hands, there's noone left to hear you scream, noone's there for you"
its not the contact i was refering to, it's the rigorus (sp?) activity of constantly moving which necesitates excellent condition of the lung and heart. anyway, nascar is not a contact sport, i've never seen one of them reach their arm out to stop the other guy or anything like that. the car is the athlete that contacts the other car, big difference. i could play pole position in the arcade all day if i got paid to do it, hell, i would do it in a heated room in the middle of july just to reach the hot temps.

my esteemed co-worker just informed me that she has met John Force and he is on the chunky side, and not to mention looks a bit elderly.i don't think chewin' 'bacca makes you physically fit

Check this article out... http://www.kcstar.com/item/pages/autora ... 26,.htmlIf you don't think NASCAR is a constant motion sport that requires physical endurance then I suggest you give 500 laps at Bristol a go.John Force is not a NASCAR driver. He is a drag racer. He pulls extreme Gs on a regular basis several times a day. Being someone who has worked in drag racing and been around him...it appears to me his health is beginning to fail him, and like he may be bowing out soon.Jimmy Spencer is not in any way indicative of today's typical NASCAR driver. He's a throwback to the "good ol boy" days and I wish he'd just give it up because he gives the whole sport a bad name. As for Elliott and Rudd...look again.Who said anything about chewing tobacco making you fit?As for "older/younger" being the dividing line of physical fitness...I don't suggest you get into a fistfight/wrestling match with Mark Martin. He may be like 5'5" but he would kick. your. (removed).Like I said earlier, everybody likes to get their jab in about NASCAR and its drivers, about how they aren't athletes, it's not a sport, blahblahblah. So go ahead...we're used to being the butts of every joke.
I'm not argueing any of the points you made. Number one I am a nascar fan. Number two, I am a redneck. I grew up on a farm, I hunt fish AND drive a pickup truck. But on the other hand I also have two college degrees and a job in sales for Coca-cola, so I guess I'm not the steroetypically nascar fan. Plus at 65-190 dollars a ticket who can afford to go to that many events a year? Least the two Dover races I get free tickets too.
No, you're not the stereotype...and just because you hunt, fish and drive a pickup truck doesn't mean you're a redneck, either, so please don't think that. Even a lot of NASCAR fans have misconceptions about the fitness of drivers...but non-fans tend to take it to an extreme.I just edited the post above and inserted a link to a nice article you might enjoy http://www.kcstar.com/item/pages/autora ... .926,.html
"and just because you hunt, fish and drive a pickup truck doesn't mean you're a redneck"Um, no, it does. I don't find the word offensive. Down here on the Eastern Shore on Maryland it's something like a title. And you have to earn it. I'm proud to be an edcuated redneck. BTW good article.
I guess I view redneck as a derogatory term, because around here "rednecks" are undesirable people. I guess it's the geographical difference maybe...MD isn't always considered a "southern" state, though some think it is. Here, TN is unquestionably a southern state, so we're all southerners...but some are the true definition of the stereotype southerner, and they give the rest of us a bad name, so they're the rednecks.
The rednecks and hicks in Michigan are vastly different from the rednecks and hicks in TN, just as the rednecks and hicks here are different from ones in Mississippi or Arkansas or Texas, etc. When I lived in Ohio, what people viewed as a "hick" or a "redneck" is fairly normal for down here...and down here, what is considered a "hick" or a "redneck" is fairly extreme by comparison.
UPDATE: flipping through channels yesterday and saw the only reason to watch nascar: with about 8 laps to go, i saw the most amazing crash, the car flew into the air twice, flipped like 5 1/2 times and stoppped. the guy in it then took the steering wheel off and waited to get removed. wow. i still think it is boring though
