2010 Vibe Dash Rattle and TSB

Post by sfr4dr »

Has anyone done the dash rattle TSB on their newer vibe? My symptoms sounds right. It makes noise above and to the right of the stereo when driving on rougher roads when it's cold out. It stops when the weather is warm. The noise can be stopped by pressing down with light-moderate force about 6" to the right of the very center of the top of the dash. The TSB looks like a pain. I might just pull the center trim and see what I can do from there. I need to find some directions on this though before I break something. Here's the TSB:

Thanks!

Hmmmm ... Interesting TSB! Neither of our Vibe's are doing this yet BUT the annoying steering column noises are getting worse. Juniors Blue 09 GT has it real bad (mine is still quiet) and I keep reminding him that there is nothing at this point that we can do about it.

I'm going to pull the stereo this weekend. I think the noise is just behind and to the right of it so I should have access. I'll jam some foam in there and hopefully be done with it!

I have the noise and it comes from "inside" the defroster vents up front at the base of the windshield. The TSB speaks to the base of the windshield as well. I won't do anything about it since it is only covered through the 3yr/36k warranty which ended on my car many moons ago.
