Ok, CEL p0135 and p0141 and exhaust leak next.

It's an 03 GT.

The previous owner replaced the resonator, but it looks like he only welded the front and not the rear connection... I'm going to have to put a couple spot on to hold it in place, drop it, and finish the job. What's the best way to get that piece off? Unbolt the flange by the rear passenger wheel and unbolt the flange by the cat, let it hang by the bushings, unbolt the "cross member", then wiggle it off the bushings?

Now for the CEL. Those codes are both saying the heater circuits are bad. What are the chances both are bad? Could it be a wiring issue? Grounding issue? Any ideas or people with prior experience with this?

It doesn't matter if it is for your particular vehicle. Those are OBDII codes and devises that work the same on any car.

I don't know what that diagram shows. Is it the heater core? We are talking about the heaters inside the HO2 sensors, not the heater for the cabin.

First check the harness connectors for the HO2 sensors. Pull them apart and inspect them for corrosion and stuff, reconnect them.

You know how to erase the codes? Disconnect the battery negative (you are familiar with that one) and step on the brake for a few seconds. The brake light circuit will drain any remaining voltage from the computer and thus reset it.

If the codes come back you will have more work to do.

I realize an O2 sensor is an O2 sensor, but fuse# and location, pcm pinouts are probably not the same.

I'll just clear the code with my code reader.

One of the o2 wires threads into the body of the car from the passenger floor. This one looked clean when I did the interior of the car, but I can check it again.

I'm suspecting it's not an issue with the individual sensors.

The diagram is not of the heater core. That is the emissions system of the xrs. #2 is the vapor canister. #1 is the O2 sensor.

Hope fully that will do it.

I am thinking that the HO2 sensor heaters may have triggered when your battery cables were corroded.

I don't have a circuit diagram, so I can't help with the fuses and stuff.

Ok, I welded the exhaust back together. The flange bolts have become fused with the little nut and when I hit it with the impact, exploded! That's OK, I just used new bolts and scraped off the remnants of the nut and used a new nut. I only had one donut and couldn't figure out if it was the top or the bottom gasket... the originals didn't look too too too bad, so I just sprayed them with cooper spray and clamped them back down. Not the best idea. It sounds better now, but at least the front one leaks still. Suck!

Does anyone know the fel-pro #'s for the two exhaust gaskets for the mid pipe? 03 GT.

So I don't smoke or have incense to make smoke, but it kinda looks and feels like the leak is chiming from under the exhaust manifold heat shield. There doesn't seem to be too much leaking from the donut by the cat.

Is making a tap tap tap sound as I accelerate from a stop. Does that sounds like manifold or the donut?

Is already much better, I'm thinking I'll leave it alone and move on to the heater circuit codes. At some point, I'll have to change all the exhaust gaskets.
