need assistance with my front bumper

Post by jeff_j1701 »

Someone hit my (parked) car yesterday and scratched it pretty good and the bumper on the front driver side looks like it's coming off.

I didn't see this happen as I was visiting someone at the time.

Anyway...I need some assistance in securing the bumper back in place. It's just around the wheel well area that is not attached.

Any advice?

I'll upload a picture when I get home.

Thanks!

Hey there.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm sure if you're anything like me, you were livid.

I always default to the most obvious first. There are many plastic pop rivets? holding all the plastic pieces in the front of the car together. I have replaced at least 15 of these on my car just because they got old and broke. I'm guessing the hit was enough to break these on your car. They are relatively cheap and can be procurred easily at the Toyota parts counter. For now, if the holes for these aren't ripped, you may be able to ziptie enough of them to keep it sturdy while you look for the pop rivets.

Crawl under there and look for empty holes. Good luck.
