when will the vibe get hp upgraded?

got my new auto magazines this week and i have noticed that most of the vib's competition got a healthy increase in hp...even mitsu increased hp on some of its models by 20hp, focus will be up by 15-20hp and the new mazda 3 will be around 150hp...when will toyo up its hp on the base/awd vibs to be competitive? cant continue to run around at 123-130hp for too long...even the rav4 go a transplant 2.4 engine worth 160hp over it old 2.0 148hp....anyone hear any rumors???

My guess is that because the GT version has the 180, the base won't get an upgrade because some people see the vibe for it's efficiency and gas use, rather than power...But this is completely speculative...

probably will be awhile. look how long it took for the celica to get a decent engine? the '00 or '01 was the first year they came out with the VVTL-i engine. up until then, it was at 140 hp.

You wanna know what pisses me off? The fact that the Mazda RX-6 already has a few body kits availible and its been out, what, 6 months??? The Vibe has been out a little more than a year, I think somebody needs to start makin some appearance accessories. Don't get me wrong the Vibe looks perfect now, but I like my car to look intimidating and to stand out in a crowd if you know what I mean.

Yeah you're right about who drives it, though I believe with the correct style of body kit, and lowering it definately could be intimidating....all my friends tell me it looks awsome as hell, and even rendom people in my school tell me this. I think if maybe a company like Veilside were to try and make a body kit for it, it would turn out awsome. though they only work with imports mostly

im no expert, but i don't think anyone will make kits for two tones (isnt that what you have merz?)i like my vibe, it looks like no other car (besides other vibes) on the road

I don't know about that if there is money to be had someone will make it...what pisses me off is that the Saturn Ion has quite a few kits out for it. As for HP increase I think the trend is down until new engine comes out, even the celica gt is now rated as 130HP in its new brochure while the Gt-s still retains its 180, wait another 2 model years and we are bound to see something.
