Problem with shaking and squeeking in the rear end

Post by VibeGuy1985 »

Hello everyone! Im new to the forum here which ive gotten alot of useful info from.
I need some help with an issue that seems like shops cant figure out or notice.
After about 15 minutes of driving i can hear a wobbling road noise out of my right rear area.
It slightly goes away while turning right sharply but will stay if its an aggressive turn and get worse turning left.

Once this starts happening my rear right brake will have a pulsed squeek when im about 3/4 of the way stopped.
If i jack the car up and try to rock each tire side to side or up and down they are all solid with no play.
Ive had the tires replaced with two different brands. The rear right wheel hub and bearing assembly has been replaced.
The drum and shoes have been replaced also. The drive shaft has no play in it and the cv behind the drum is always cool after driving when this happens. Im really confused on what there could be left that could be wrong.
Im about $700 in with no answer and tired of finding rides home to leave it at a repair shop all day with no sure answer.

Has anyone else had this issue? Its an 03 vibe awd base model.
Any help is greatly appreciated

You said "The drive shaft has no play in it". Did you check for play and/or up and down movement at the rear end housing? You have replaced the wheel bearing but the inner bearing on the rear end is also part of this same drive line.

the drum is most likely out of round and/or the shoes weren't properly greased/adjusted.
