new member, Vibe from Lithuania !

Post by Markorka »

Hello!

Firstly, sorry for my english :)

I am from Lithuania and one year ago I decided to own this beutifull car and I love it ! I paid for it about 7200 USD.

It is 2008 1,8 l base with automatic transmission. I think that this one had been crashed and front of the car replaced, because there was no chrome on the grill and no Pontiac logo on it.. :( I realy miss it. Unfortunately it is hard to find those things here in Lithuania. It is rare to see Vibe on our streets.

Do those chromes goes together with grill or it is posible to take it separate ?
Also, on the front of the bumper there is no indentation for logo. I think it should be ? So I am not sure will logo fit correctly on it..

I made some mods to my Vibe. Firstly, put daylight leds, then put kenwood dnx5240bt. Mounted parktronic and bought new alloy black wheels. Also have pontiac silver alloys, but I put on it tires for winter, black - for summer season.
And finally, mounted BRC gas system. So it is very cheap now to drive this car :) unfortunately, there is no space now for spare wheel :(

In there future I am going to set rear view camera maybe.. change fm antenna, but not decided yet shark fin, or small standart antenna.

Here is some pics. Mayb later will make some interior pics :)

Hi Makorka!
Welcome to a new member by a new member. I just joined this weekend myself. I did not know the Vibe was available in Europe. Yours is very nice. Maybe it was not crashed at all and the previous owner removed the chrome or painted it to give the car a stealthy look.

Welcome to GenVibe! You've done some good work to it. Badges, funnily enough, are cheap over here. And the chrome grille surrounds do clip in where you are missing them. If you looked on American Ebay you could probably source them for pretty cheap. But you've done some good work on it! With that BRC gas system I'm assuming it runs on compressed natural gas (CNG). That's great if it does! I wish there were things like that over here.

Funny thing is they weren't, or at least not in large numbers.

No, it was crashed, I found on the internet, that 2 years ago it was sold on American auction (found by the VIN code). There is no chromes, so it is not painted :)

I saw badges on ebay. Yes, it is cheap, but shipping costs doubles the price :( No, it is not CNG, it called LPG in english, I think. At the moment it costs about 1 USD / litre, and my car eats about 11-12 litre / 100 km. So it is cheapier than run on petrol ( about 2 USD/ litre)

Sorry, didn't understand :) what you mean by saying diggin' your DRL mod ? :)
Why you say jealous ? You think that it looks better without badge ? :)

I still can't decide to buy badge and chromes on grilles or not..

I think a little chrome around the grille would be nice because it would go very well with the wheels you have.

"I dig this" is a slang term for "I really like this".
