Light Bar for Vibe

Years ago someone aimed a laser beam at my left eye, now have a dark spot there.

I have been wanting to improve my night vision with a little more light on the road.

I was looking into extra exterior lighting recently and found this at 1st:

Which shows a CARR Light Wing license plate mount on a Vibe.
At present have a friend custom making a Light Wing for my Vibe.

But then next I found a cheap alternative to the Jeep Liberty factory light bar.
The Liberty's roof width is real close to the Vibe's, so this is a perfect fit.

The lights included are definitely not bright enough to be considered off road lights.
If you buy this, you would most likely need to replace the 4 H3 bulbs with LED or HID.
Underneath the fiberglass shell there is plenty of room for HID ballast and harness.

I recently installed JDM Bi-Xenon HID head lights, and am about to buy projectors too.
At present am searching who might be able to disassemble my headlights and install them.

These types of lights are not road-legal for a reason. Please, for the sake of other drivers on the road, don't use offroad lamps as driving lights.

I agree with kumquat to a certain extent. Assuming you wish to merely cover more road area with light at night (similar to what fog lights do) then go for it and perform this mod. However, keep in mind the courtesy of all oncoming traffic and test the angle of the light and make sure it does NOT shine directly into the eyes of any oncoming traffic. Keep these lights mounted LOW (aside the license plate would be OK) and try to keep it clean looking. Nothing worse than a Vibe that looks like something from the Beverly Hillbilly's

Id' say give the projectors a try before going rally style with the lights. Rally-lights will blind everyone, then they'll need the rally lights so see, too! It's cyclical, and before you know it, dogs and cats will be living together (What?). Anyway, projector retrofit will do MASSIVE things to help visibility in the dark. There's no comparing projectors to halogens, they're that good. Basically, below a certain line, there's light. Just everywhere. Not at all like the scattery halogen bowls. Vibe lights are not the best from the factory, and projectors really are what everyone should be driving with.

The difference between off road and on road, one has a road, the other does not.
Off road there is no road, no dirt road or gravel road. You are making the road as you drive.
Off road requires lights that can illuminate land 3000 feet and farther a head.
I am needing lights that can illuminate areas within 20 to 70 feet in front.
Also need a wide field of view, basically a 120 to 150 degree radius.
I also know not to turn on lights when others are near
Whether it is a car approaching going the opposite direction or one directly in front of me.

The over head lights I posted from ebay, are not off road lights and I will not install them anyway.
