rear view mirror 2006 Vibe

Hi everyone, I have a strange question, I just bought a 2006 Vibe from a Ford dealer that knows
very little about the car I bought. Maybe someone here can help. Above the rear view mirror is
some kind of sensor or eye that has wires running into the ceiling area. All I can see on the face of
it are 2 letters "HX", I have no clue what this is there for, can anyone help?

The only automotive things I can find tagged with HX are Hummers, and some sort of car alarm system/glass breakage sensor. Likely not a hummer, does the car have an aftermarket alarm system installed?

Not that I am aware of. I think I might have to go to a dealer to try and figure it out. Although
someone did suggest that it might have something to do with Onstar, but there are no buttons on
the mirror for it, so I think that is not the case. I looks like an after market item for something, just
have no clue what. Although I do feel that it is a sensor of some sort by the way it looks. I will take
a picture and try to post it this weekend to see if anyone can identify it, thanks.

Probably an alarm or set-up for radar detector/laser jammer. I highly doubt it's for OnStar as it should be built into the mirror, if it has it.
