Thinking of Selling 2010 Vibe

Post by WhgVibe »

Hey Guys, Seriously considering selling my 2010 Base Vibe :o . Its an auto w/AC and remote door locks....just the basics. Neptune Blue with 75K. Well maintained but not "perfect". Whats a good selling price? Edmunds suggest $8800 but NADA says $11,500 which seems high. Any thoughts?

Location, location, location, it's not just for real estate.
Do a "search" for your car using Cars.com to see what dealers are asking for 2010 Vibes.
Good Luck,

Hey, Why not take the total of both 11500 +8500 /2 = $10, 150.

Totally agree here! If it's seen winters up here in the midwest then it likely will have some minor corrosion by now Also were you the original ONE owner/buyer? How was it used (hwy/city ratio)? A ton of misbehaved kids in it a lot? You get the point here. Oh, and finally ........................ PICTURES :D

Also a nationwide search on carmax.com can be informative. Take 20-25% off their no haggle price and you probably are at a realistic FSBO number.

Just curious... why are you "seriously considering" selling it? Also, where are you located?

Understandable.

Too bad you're so far away, I have friends who are looking at getting a new used vehicle and I am trying to steer them toward a Vibe.

Best of luck selling the Vibe and getting a new Malibu ;)!

I'm assuming the comment in red is the one your comment was directed towards. If so, yes. My mom and I happen to be very satisfied with our Vibes and think they're great little vehicles.

 Yes it was, and the comment after it as well, Trading in a Vibe for a Malibu, seems like a downgrade to me.

Well I decided to hang on to the Vibe! Just cant give up the versatile and dependable hatch back !! Gonna keep it another year and hand it off to my son at 16. Just might need to buy some new rims tho to give it a little tweak!! One thing I've noticed with the base vibes with wheel covers are how badly the stock steel wheels begin to rust. Mine just started doing so the last month or so.

That is very smart of you. While I'd recommend a used Fit over the Vibe for a new driver (better insurance rates and MUCH better visibility), I hated to read that you were thinking of getting rid of it. The first thing that came to mind when you said you wanted a softer ride was: get new tires. I was going to recommend the Pirelli P7 Plus tires. I just put mine on and got rid of my aging MXV4s. The Pirelli's provide a very soft ride and are very quiet. I'm so glad you are not going with a Malibu. As a three time GM owner, one of which almost killed me, I say to all my friends: GM knows how to build the very best vehicles in the world. The question is, will they. GM cheaps out on nearly everything they build, resulting in substandard cars because they are afraid of the price tag on their vehicles if they use their best and brightest to build a car with components from their best distributors. I will NEVER put money in GM's pocket again. I even try to get major work done on the Vibe at my local Toyota dealership instead.
I hope your son appreciates the excellent vehicle he is about to inherit. Just tell him to take it easy at first as he gets used to the major blind spots in the car.

Glad to hear you're keeping the Vibe and that your son will be inheriting it! As Caretaker said, make sure he really takes his time getting used to the blindspots. I would definitely recommend getting some of those little round blindspot mirrors to add to the side mirrors. We have them on both our Vibes and they help greatly in reducing the blindspots.

As far as the steel wheels go, you could always just paint them with some Rustoleum or something. Much cheaper then buying new wheels and will make them look new again ;).

Yeah I could repaint the steel wheels but thats not nearly as much fun as some new wheels!! Interesting thoughts on GM, I've owed a few in days past and while I considered them kinda bland I never thought of them as death traps...lol. I'll check out the round "spot" mirrors, thanks for the tip! Ive never really been concerned with the blind spots but both my daughter and wife, who are both 5ft, have complained about the visibility while driving the Vibe.

Congrats on deciding to keep the Vibe for your son. My oldest son really enjoys his Vibe, and my daughter really likes my 10 GT. I'm sure she will end up with it next school year, so I'll be back in my Mustang. The blind spots are a bit of an issue, but I just look at least twice whenever I'm pulling out or changing lanes.
