Post by Chris1437 »

Weve had the pontiac vibe in the family for 8 years, and when i turned 16 I inherited this little beauty, i love this car so much, automatic, we bought an after market tow hitch and a rack system on top for kyaks, i love it i put my 8x8 trailer behind it and tow my motorcycle or snowmobile, it a great little car and i couldnt ask for anything better, its like new, and is the "salsa" color which is pretty awesome, i just love it and im glad i found genvibe.com because im 16 going on 17 and i get made of for my vibe, but im proud to own one!

Welcome!

I got mine when I was 17 in 2007. Take good care of her! Also, take care not to curb the wheels, you may end up regretting it later on if you damage them.

Welcome to GenVibe Chris :D I think you meant to tell us that " I get made FUN of for my Vibe"? If so, just let those know that you'll be laughing all the way to the bank! Very low cost to maintain these cars, excellent fuel mileage, and very versatile! Yeah it's not a Corvette or any other high dollar sports car but for your first car (mine was a 73 Duster  ) you simply can't go wrong. Post pics soon and did I say .................................... WELCOME ;)

Welcome to the forum.

Man do I feel old? I got my Vibe when I was 54! First car was a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible.

Welcome to GenVibe Chris! Congratulations on inheriting the Vibe! It's a great little vehicle that you will have for a long time to come. Anyone who would make fun of anyone else for anything is just immature and not worth your time. Post some pictures of your Vibe when you get a chance ;)!

I got my Vibe right before I turned 25. My mom got hers a few months after she turned 48.

My first car was a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE Sedan. My parents had bought it brand new in 1994 and passed it down to me when I got my license in the summer of 2000. It had some rust and around 200,000 miles on it. The AC didn't work. It had manual windows and a cassette player, but I loved that car to death! I kept a huge Rubbermaid container filled with detailing products in the trunk and was always washing it even though it had some rust on it. I don't remember ever getting made fun of for it, but even if I had, I wouldn't have cared because that car was my baby. I had a car and at that age... that's all that matters !

I get defensive about how awesome she is. Very well-behaved and problem-free car. Keeping on top of the maintenance is key, though.

Welcome! Great first car! Don't listen to people who make fun, you will end up with many compliments as well. Also great colour!

Chris:

Don't pay any attention to those that make fun of your car. Be proud you have a car and are driving at age 16. I just got my '03 Vibe (also salsa) back in Sept and have put over 3000 miles on her. At age 63 do I worry about what others think? Not too much. I can pull the "other" car out of the garage when I want to. Btw, I've only put 200 miles on the other car in the last 6 months. Someday you may be able to have an "other" car also.

You need some backup? Nothing like getting spanked by a wagon, just ask the local ricers here in Erie. LOL
