2zz JDM swap

Post by zrooster99 »

I blew my first dizzy - so I'm going to replace it with a JDM 2zz I found on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-00-05-TOYOT ... 6f&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

The ebay description says it only fits the 00-05 Celica... can I assume that they are wrong about that? Will the engine from the link above work in my 2003 Vibe GT? Is any anything special about installing a JDM engine as opposed to an American 2zz? Anything else I should know?? Thanks!!!!

I have no idea if it will work in the 03 GT. However there has been some reported issues dealing with the JDM sensors on the JDM motors with the Vibe GT ECU. Also if you plan on using the JDM ECU there will be issues there because I don't believe they are OBDII. You'll need a special code reader.

$1900 ebay or $2250 monkeywrenchracing. When talking engine replacement, I would drop the extra $350 for the quality and the backup of MWR. About the JDM issues, Salsa is right.
