New Head Unit Installation

Post by clownshoes »

Ok, I've got a 2005 Vibe. Of course the bulbs in the head unit are burnt, so I've decided to replace the head unit with something like this http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/POCEN/ ... /FH-X700BT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My question is this: Is there anything special I need to watch out for? I will be taking this to an installer to have them put it in, but should I watch out for anything? Is this a simple pull out the old head unit and put the new one in?

Any and all help appreciated.

Do you have the moon and Tunes version. Vehicle may require adapter between head unit and factory amp.

I installed the same head unit in my '05 with M&T. It needed an adapter (Pac soem-4 via Crutchfield).
Install was pretty straightforward...the instructions were a bit lacking in detail, but I wired it up as it said (I've only installed one other head unit and that was over 20 years ago, so I'm by no means skilled at it) and it works perfectly.
It fits well in the dash too. Your installer should have no issues.
