Smashed Windshield

Post by Cubanpete »

I was driving to work on Thursday, A Truck zoomed by in the middle ane and Either a rock was stick in his tire threads or he made it jump up as he ran over it, the rock was the size of a an American 50 cent piece.......I saw this thing just fly twards my car, and man did it make a load noise.....I was worried it would hit the body and damage the paint it hit the windshield on the passenger side right under the wiper.....when I got out at the parking lot at work yto investigate.I saw the impact and the windshield had a 5 inch circular shatter all around the impact.....Cost me 250 bux to fix it (All perils deductible)......That really peed me off.

Sorry about your windshield. Over the past week I've had to incidents where a rock or something cracked mine. Both times on the passenger side. The first time I'm not really sure where the rock or whatever came from. Didn't think the car in front of me would have tossed up a rock like that (It was fairly far in front and wasn't going all that fast). It was on a sharp curve where the road came to a "Y". There was one car in the middle of the "Y" turning. THe way it hit, I would have assumed it came from the stopped car. Like a BB or something. Caused a spider crack about the size of a nickle. The second one was just a small .5mm chip. Traveling through Indy on I-70. UGH! I notice soo much more road crap hitting the windshield than any other car I've driven!!!Dave
