cup holders

Post by russ257 »

has anyone else noticed that the the frontmost cup holder is smaller then the second one? kind of annoying when you and your passenger both have pepsi bottles and only one really fits

I think they are tapered, so they're more narrow at the bottom than the top. Because the lower one is deeper, it might be the same width, but the bottle gets stuck because it doesn't hit the bottom before the taper gets too narrow. I could be wrong though...Yeah, it kidna sucks, but hardly bugs me that much. I just offer to use the rear cupholder if someone else is with me...

it does seem to be a little tighter fitting than the top one, but i think you're right, raging. it's much deeper. i rarely use it, except for the change holder (ash tray), and make my passengers put theirs in the backseat one, too.

I posted something about this a while back and it really pissed me off. The front cup holder IS smaller than the back and neither one of them can hold a BIG Slam bottle!!! I discovered that driving my Vibe home from the dealers... stopped off to get a cold beverage (big slam of Code Red as always) and to my surprise, it didn't freakin' fit! I'm looking in to getting another cup holder that fits down inside that one (saw one at PepBoys) that I hope fixes the problem, at least for one cup holder.

I had a cup holder like that. Not sure what I did with it now that I think about it. But it had two "clamps" on the bottom that you stick into the cup holder, then screw them outward and they push outward against the stock cupholder, holding it in place. The top of it has an adjustable cup holder that holds a REALLY big cup...that was great...wonder what I did with that...

I used to have a cup holder like that as well... and I can't find it of course. I think it was called "Wizard" or something like that. Now I'm going to have to go and look for it, cause that would solve my issue with the cup holder... LOL!

I think the only reason you guys are having problems is the fact that you are try to put Pepsi products in the cup holders. My vibe has no problem with Coca Cola products. It must be a Pontiac ploy in conjuction with Coca Cola for marketing purposes
