Uni chip on base vibe

Post by brendo907 »

I have an 05 vibe base automatic. I found a uni chip for the 02-04 vibe gt. Will it work? i have an early model 05 so drive by cable and uni chip said they still have maps and tunes for the chip and can re burn it to standard pump gas. Anyone ever put one one a base with the 1.8? its a rather good deal on the chip. Thanks everyone

The O5 shouldn't be DBC unless it's an AWD or GT. The Unichip from what I've seen won't do much good because it doesn't deal with the O2 sensor which has ultimate power when dealing with the fuel trims. Install an SRI/CAI and cat-back exhaust. The better the car breaths the better it performs.

Yep that car is really slow...I know all to well. The SRI/CAI is an easy install and does help some (e-bay about $50, filter upgrade $50). The Exhaust is a bit more expensive and requires welding about $250 for all. It's interesting they have a "base" AWD Vibe. On the AWD Matrix it's decked out.

It's got power windows, locks and the CD player. I know my grandmas is also a base awd 03 but she has the sun roof. It's a little tank in the snow. I can weld so exhaust is no big deal. It's my fiances car. I'm more into old vws and diesel power
