RKsport CF roof rails OR Duraflex graphite roof caps?

Post by Bubonic »

Ok guys I need your serious opinions and experience on this. I have finally hunted down two different options for replacing my roof rack. I wan't to get the best one for my black car.

RK Sport Carbon Fiber Roof Rails
Averaging $270 + $60 shipping everywhere that I've looked.

Duraflex Graphite Roof Caps
$160 + $80 Shipping. I talked to the sales representive on the website I linked below and he said that it includes both pieces, left and right. So this would be the cheaper route.

My thoughts:
The carbon fiber roof rail is a black color with the carbon fiber design on it. The duraflex graphite roof caps are painted in a primer black color. My car is Abyss black so both roof caps will match but I think the duraflex caps would blend in better. What do you guys think?

$80 shipping on the Duraflex ones, so the price difference isn't that great... Plus they're just primered and need to be painted.

Don't you think the matte black primer finish would blend in fine considering my car is already black? The Rksports also have pricey shipping. So $230 for duraflex versus $330 for rksport.

I think a friend of mine had a set he didn't put on his Vibe. I sent him a message asking about them and will tell you what he says back. Since you're interested in a set I'll be sure to mention that. I can almost guarantee you that they'll be cheaper than the online ones.

EDIT: he says the fitment was horrible, so he sent them back. Sorry! He had the RKSport carbon ones.

Ahh fudge that doesn't sound good! Maybe the set they made was bad or maybe those RKSport ones just suck.. I may try to order the Duraflex ones instead and I'll let everyone know how well they fit.

I'd have to agree. Once I have plenty of money lying around I'm going to post the result.
