Slipping Clutch

Post by PeterEkstrom »

Hello,

The clutch on my 2006 Vibe slips a little under acceleration. At 2000 rpm if you step on the gas you can hear it rev and the tach goes up to around 3000, but with very little acceleration. This will last for maybe a second then the rpm's will drop and the car will accel.

Is this a bad clutch?

Is there something I can adjust?

Thank you!

Peter

That is absolutely a slipping clutch. The engine is revving but the transmission isn't grabbing because the friction material is worn off of the clutch. Take it easy until you can get a replacement.
Just curious:
Base or GT?
How many miles?
