Scosche SAT6 speaker adapter (2009)

I've seen a lot of people having problems installing speakers in the Vibe because of the weird opening and lack of an aftermarket adapter that's any good.

Scosche seems to have the SAT6 adapter now. Looks like it solves a lot of the problems I've read about. Does anyone have experience with them?

The adapter fits the opening perfectly, but does not fit a large speaker. The hole diameter is only 5.25" and my 6.5" Kickers were too large. Kicker specs call for a 5.625" opening. Fortunately, the stock speaker brackets work fine as long as you tear the old speakers and plugs out of them.

Actually when doing the fronts I discovered you don't even need to drill out the old mount. You can rip the guts of the factory speaker out while it's still riveted in the door, then screw the new speaker right into the mount.

Cuts the job time in half.
