I just purchased this 2003 AWD Base Vibe. It has 38500 miles! But there is some damage which looks fairly recent. It appears the previous owner/mechanic, etc. tried to close the hood with the hood prop still in place. The result was several "bumps" (or reverse dents) on the hood with chipped paint. I have attached pics of the damage and was curious as to opinions on how best to repair the damage myself. I am fairly handy, perform all my own mechanical and electrical repairs, but body work is not in my list of strong skills. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :P

It may be easiest to find a good hood at a junk yard and have a body shop paint it for you. May even be possible to find the right color hood!

Thanks for the link. I've been on the hunt at my local yards for a replacement. No luck yet! :?

Yeah, junked hood probably the best bet.

If you can't find one, which you probably won't, drive it over to a local dent-removal place and see what they have to say about it.

Also try http://www.car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When I mashed the hood on my Mustang, I was lucky enough to find one the same color. It was great. Got it for much less than the charge to paint it! Or get a black one and have it two tone!

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Still searching for replacement hood from salvage, as well as a method to fix the hood myself.
