Tire offset question

Post by binder »

Are the rims from an 07 Corolla the same as from an 06 Vibe? I assume they are, just want to make sure there is not an offset difference?

Thanks

They dont list a 15" rim for the 06 Vibe there?

I was hoping to get some 195 65 15 winter tires and rims, can I not use that size?

You can! I think. I plan to do the exact same thing. Generally, most or all 15" Toyota wheels with 5X100 bolt pattern will work. Look up the specific Toyota model on tirerack.com and compare wheel spec.'s to the Vibes' 16" spec.'s. In my opinion offset is not critical. Vibe base offset is 54mm. An offset of 30mm will simply put the tire tread about 1" further out from stock. Right Guys/gals?

I was thinking the base 1.8 5x100 offset for both generations was +39mm. I could be wrong. Need to research this, on this site and others. The optional alloy 17"s might have an offset of +45.

Tirerack steel wheels:
2010 and 2006 Corolla:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results. ... ModClar=LE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
15x6 closeout $48.00
Offset: 33mm Backspacing: 4.80" Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size:195/65-15
15x6 $56.00
Offset: 54mm Backspacing: 4.842" Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size:195/65-15
16x6.5 $62.00
Offset: 54mm Backspacing: 5.511" Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size:205/55-16

2010 and 2006 base Vibe:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results. ... alve+Stems" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
16x6.5 $62.00
Offset: 54mm Backspacing: 5.511" Bolt Pattern: 5-100
Rec. Tire Size:205/55-16

Looks like they are closing out the 33mm offset, and the range they are showing is between 33mm-54mm. Do not know center bore. I think I read somewhere on genvibe that center bore is 54.1mm, but should be verified.
