Engine Whine Through Speakers (Right) on 2003 Vibe GT

Post by jjhendri »

Ok, can some one tell me how to resolve, grounded the Pioneer HU to the crossbar that runs the length of the dashboard but can still hear the noise with the radio. I have searched but cannot seem to find the answer.

You added the ground to try and fix the problem? If not pull it off it could be causing the problem. And it's only on the right side speakers? Which 12v+ did you use? Did you use a wiring conversion kit or splice the wires in directly? More than likely the noise is from the Ignition Coils.

You could try pulling a clean +12v and ground to the HU. Add a relay between the Battery and HU and control the relay with 12v your are using now.
Another fix would be to add a CAP (noise suppressor) to the +12v.

Hi Salsa Guy, thanks for the response. I used the conversion kit from Crutchfield that came with the HU. And I'm thinking since that plugs into the Vibe harness it was already grounded as Crutchfield yesterday told me but I am a little confused on whether I should be using the ground from the HU on the Pioneer DEH3200UB to splice into the ground wire or not. Brain is not wrapped around this yet.
