I just recently graduated high school and my parents got me an '09 Pontiac Vibe GT for my graduation present!
I didn't have any input, they surprised me with it. I came home from my graduation and that car was in the driveway and I thought it was one my of parents' friends, but no one was in the house but my parents, so I asked whose car it was, and they told me it was mine.tpollauf wrote:Welcome to GenVibe graduateDoes your parents want to adopt any future upcoming graduates

Very nice choice for a gift! Did you have any input on this awesome graduation gift OR did they pick it out for you? Looks like Florida or California ? Take good car of this beast. Give us more details on the ride. Manual or automatic? Mileage ?
There isn't a pin stripe on my car. It's probably just a shadow from the palm tree that you see.SeattleJeremy wrote:Great looking car!
Love the side skirt.
If it where my car I'd take that pin stripe off looks a little out of place.
Thanks for the picture, that's the pinstripe I'm talking about.canadave wrote:This isn't a pinstripe?? :0 That can't be a shadow.....seriously? If so, that's quite the coincidence, it sure looks like a pinstripe!
Anyways, neither here nor there I guess. Snazzy look either way!
Amen !!! I totally agree with you on this one. For one thing it is too light of a color to be on a White car, secondly it doesn't follow any of the 'natural curves' which the Vibe does have (aka .... body lines!) Remove it and do nothing OR remove it and redo it with a darker stripe & follow the curvesSeattleJeremy wrote:Great looking car!

hehe, glad you found the pinstripe, I was wondering if I was losing my mind!Melophile wrote:I'm located in Orlando, FL and I haven't seen a single Vibe my entire life other than mine.
I just realized there was a pinstripe there. I went out to look at my car and there it was. I never noticed it xD
I would love to add some modifications to the car, but I have no clue what to add. I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars.
I was going to ask if the pin strip came with the GT model from the factory????trb wrote:Congrats on the new Vibe! I really like it in white, probably the only car I really like in white. I almost bought one in white, but they sold it before I could get to the dealer. Your parents made a good choice. I bought my son his 06 back when he was in 11th grade, and I'll probably end up giving my 10 GT to my daughter. I like them since they are dependable, safe cars.
Mine has a pinstripe also, silver on a red car. IMO it makes the side look cleaner. I for one don't really like the body styling curves on the 09-10 cars, but with the stripes it calms and distracts from the curves.
Good luck and take good care on your Vibe!
Nope. Neither one of our 2009 Vibe GTs has a pinstripe and I'm glad they don't. I'm not a fan of pinstripes.ParknVibe wrote:I was going to ask if the pin strip came with the GT model from the factory????
You can also see a dark line in the shadow of the side mirror????canadave wrote:This isn't a pinstripe?? :0 That can't be a shadow.....seriously? If so, that's quite the coincidence, it sure looks like a pinstripe!

Pin stripes are applied after the factory ships them to the dealer.ParknVibe wrote:How come the white Vibe's "pin" stripe and the Red Vibe's stripe are nearly exactly along the same line from the tail light to the front light...points?
Mine was done by the second owner. He worked for a stereo/ car customization place so it was just something he did to customize it. I actually found pics online where it was first for sale after being a rental car, and it did not have the stripes.SeattleJeremy wrote:Pin stripes are applied after the factory ships them to the dealer.ParknVibe wrote:How come the white Vibe's "pin" stripe and the Red Vibe's stripe are nearly exactly along the same line from the tail light to the front light...points?
Some times it's done after getting off the train and before the car gets to the lot, other times it's done by the dealer it self. The dealers order and pay for the pin striping, then add it to the "Second Sticker". Passing the cost and a hefty fee on to the customer.
