I found this forum because my 2003 vibe's CEL has come on (current milage is 79,196) It has been a very reliable ride, but maybe I need to start pampering it a bit. Other than oil changes, it has not needed very much mechanical attention. Any tips? annabanana

Welcome to the GenVibe!
Have you used a code reader to find out what the CEL code is? Is it running rough at all?
Welcome to GenVibe! Wow, that is really low mileage for a 2003! Give us some more info on your Vibe i.e. color, transmission, model, etc. Better yet... post some pictures of it !

If you don't have access to a code reader, do you have an Autozone or other large auto parts place close by? Usually they can scan for codes (so they can sell you the parts) and when you get the codes, that can give you an idea what is wrong. A common item is the gas cap. The light on my son's car came on while my daughter was driving it, so i took it to Autozone and sure enough, it was the evaporative emissions code. Tightened the gas cap until it clicked and it was good. My daughter forgot to tighten it completely.
Maybe it will be something simple, but if not, certainly let us know the code and maybe someone can help with info on it.
