fixing headlight plastic casings?

Post by canadave »

The clear casings surrounding our 04 Vibe's headlights seem to be scratched up and hazy. I'm not sure if the scratches are on the inside or outside; I ran my fingers along it, but I can't tell if the lack of smoothness is the scratches or small pitting or rough surface.

What's the best plan of attack for something like this? If there is any way to replace those completely, without ripping the car apart too much, I'd be inclined to try that...is it relatively easy to do?

Thanks. Interestingly, I looked that kit up on Amazon, and while the reviews are great overall, there's a couple that mention that it was only temporary, and their lights clouded back up after a few months. I'll have to think about it.

Glad to be of some help. Every headlight kit that I have used has faded over time. This one has definitely been the best though. Your best bet would be brand new lenses if your looking for something that is really going last. I looked at prices on ebay & amazon & they arent cheap...about $150 per lense. Good luck !
