WooTinn - 2003 Neptune :D

Post by WooTinn »

Here is the story from the time I bought the car to present. There will be many more pictures to come, with each new modification!1ZZ-FE5 Speed ManualElectric locks, windows, mirrors, keyless entry, etc..Neptune Blue 2 tone8 - 21 - 2011These were taken at the auto salvage yard, where I rescued the vibe. :D Everything is stock on the car as of right now.9 - 26 - 2011The Vibe arrived to it's new home, and it immediately limped off the trailer into my 30 x 50 shop I began the tear down, so assess any unseen damage, and prep the car for new parts.Good news, the only damaged/missing parts were:Left lower control armLeft tie-rodLeft fenderLeft headlightLeft foglightFront bumper (upper and lower)8 - 27 - 2011With the body panels ordered, I dug out the box of parts I robbed off my Frosty before it left. I had:Single din aftermarket deck kit35w 9004 Hi/Lo HID kitVibe-length audio amp wires (power, ground, rca, etc)Pioneer Head unitThis is what I got done today after work:All wired up and ready for the road :DWires ran and connected neatlyUnfortunately, I could not find my 24 pin GM radio harness adapter, so I'll be installing the head unit friday when I get the money to get an adapter (I spent all my money on getting the car here :/)Good news though, at work I was contacted by another potential buyer for the mustang, so I maybe have roughly $2900 to spend soon ;DUPDATE 12/12/11I haven't been updating as I went like I wanted to, but I am now driving my Vibe :D Here's from where I left off to present:Fender is cut in and hung on the car.Got one headlight in! and the fender painted.Pulled the transmission to replace the clutch, Installed second headlight.Letting the Vibe down getting ready to test drive it after clutch install. Drives okay, Needs alignment badly at this point though.Wheels and Tires came in. They arent the Konigs I wanted, but I really like the look of these. I'm very pleased with them!Mounted the wheels and tires!Installed the front bumper, and did a front end alignment. Now it really drives awesome :DTinted the taillights today. Waiting on some more money so I can repaint all the cladding one nice gray. Also can't wait for some foglights.. That's where I stand at the moment! More pics and mods to come

Yay!! Another rescued Vibe! I didn't rescue mine, but someone else did, thankfully. Anyways, good job so far. Just getting done with what you can. Are all the parts already ordered?

due to money, just the body panels are ordered at the moment. The front bumper and fender will be here friday, and I will cut them in and hang them. I still need to order headlights and foglights.I found a lower control arm at a local salvage yard for 65 bucks. I'll be picking that up, along with the tie rod friday, also. The car wont be done this weekend sadly. I have enough money for everything but the lights. I'm searching online for some good prices, and the cheapest i've found is a pair of headlights for about 265. If you can direct me somewhere better, please do. I'll be waiting on either a few more pay-days for completion, or for the potential buyer for my mustang to buy it. If I do sell the Mustang, I'll be ordering a CAI, a set of 17"s, cat-back exhaust, and getting the windows tinted.

Car-part.com. It searches your area for salvage parts. I found headlights for $150 each.

I'd really like to get new ones. It makes the car look that much better. Thanks for the suggestion though, I've used them before. Very nice site.

I Think so also :D I was bored today, so I decided to do the DRL/auto lights delete mod, along with the fogs anytime mod. This way my hid's won't randomly blind someone at dusk.

Well, I've been busy, but I'll be driving the vibe in a few weeks. After getting everything close enough, I test drove it and it needs a clutch. I ordered wheels/tires, and the clutch today. I'll be finishing everything up in the next few weeks. also, pics to come!

Thank you! I'm happy to put another Vibe on the road. As for the bumper, let's just say if money wasn't such a factor in this rebuild, I definately would have bought OEM. It does serve the purpose though.

Hello all! This is WooTinn, under another alias. I lost access to my previous email, password, and all that. But it's me! I want you all to know that I neglected to inform you I sold my Neptune a while back, in order to purchase a 2012 Scion tC RS 7.0. After much deliberation (and frustration of missed payment and empty wallets) I tracked my old friend down, in hopes to get her back. I know it's crazy, but I actually enjoyed my Vibe much more than I enjoyed the tC. I just serves my purposes and personality so much better. Needless to say, I will be driving her once again starting this coming Monday! And the tC will be going back to Toyota. After that, I look forward to the serious struggle of rebuilding my credit from scratch (which, by the way, was in the 800's before buying the tC, and now in the low 400's). I will be going from paying 894.67 a month in car notes and insurance to paying 261.56 a month. Hopefully I will be able to use this opportunity to get back on my feet financially.

Anyways, sorry for the paragraph! I am just enthralled to know that I'll be driving my Neptune once again, and I'll be a fairly active user of GenVibe, as well. Will all the money I'll be saving, I plan on getting my Neptune looking and sounding pretty sweet. ;)

Long story short; Long time, no see! I'm back, and happier than ever about it!

More recent pictures of my Neptune will be coming once I regain ownership once again!
