New vibe owner

Post by keko »

Hey just introducing myself. I changed from a ford escape to a 2008 pontiac vibe, need cargo space, but wanted something that uses less gas, this car gave me just that. Just have it just for 2 days already has some features which i like, just have to work on it a bit to my liking. It has a 5 speaker system, with its oem radio (burnt out light of radio) so far sound system is great, might install my old pioneer 3-way speakers and just leave the bass speakers as-is. (Read of amp under driver seat? there's something under my seat, doesn't look like an amp, removed the plug and system keep on sounding, what might it be??)
I'm going to install HID bi-xenon, but i first need to remove DRL lights, tried the yellow wire guide, but it didn't work (connected the module side to the ground).

So far a mini project for weekends:
8000k HID bi-xenon headlights
halogen fog lights (pure yellow or a whitish??)
blue or white led strip in head lights
install an old blue hoes coves for engine compartment (radiator, fuel line etc...)
might paint engine cover blue and a few plastic pieces
5% tint back windows, 20% tint front windows (no problems with tickets as long and front windshield is clear)
17" oem rims painted black (might be in the long haul, time consuming)
led interior dome light and rear view mirror lights
Led or bright halogen reverse light??
install 4 3-way speakers + tweeter speakers
install my pioneer usb radio with dash plate
black door trims to avoid paint chips
re-paint pontiac rear emblem (fadded red)

These are projects to start in some time, since I'm still paying the financing and have just time on sundays. Any other ideas will be great. And an advice for the yellow wire mod would be appreciated!

Welcome to GenVibe :D Where are you located ?? Update profile. Post pics of your Vibe when you get a chance. Fill us in on all the details ... color, mileage, options, etc. You'll get a wealth of knowledge and we're all here to help each other out. Disabling the DRL's has been done by several members here and I'm sure one of them will chime in and redirect you to the proper link on how to do it. Again ...................................... WELCOME ;)

Welcome to GenVibe! As others have said, definitely post some pictures of your Vibe when you get a chance.

For halogen fog light bulbs, I have Nokya hyper yellow Stage 1 bulbs in the fog lights of my 2009 Vibe GT and absolutely love them. I was never a fan of yellow fog lights, than I decided to give them a try and I couldn't be happier with them. They look great against my white headlights (Sylvania SilverStar zXe bulbs) and they actually provide better vision in the rain, fog, etc. You can find them on eBay for about $25.00 a pair.

For LED lights, I highly recommend v-LEDs. All the LED bulbs on my Vibe (all interior lights, license plate light and reverse lights) are from them. Their bulbs are very high quality, have great color (5000k white), are super bright, reasonably priced and arrived within a couple days of ordering.

For the reverse lights, as I mentioned above, I have #921 5000k white LED bulbs from v-LEDs in the reverse lights of my Vibe and they light up my entire driveway at night. They are very bright and well worth the $49.99 a pair.

As Doug mentioned, check out Grafx Werks for vinyl overlays for all the badges on your "new" Vibe. They make some great, high quality stuff for Vibes.
