New guy here

Post by Toms09GT »

Hi everyone. I am a new owner of a 2009 Vibe GT. I got the car a couple months ago and finally got around to posting here. I have been in the SAAB world for the last 7 years, but my 93 finally crapped out on me. That was the best and most fun vehicle I have ever owned. The Vibe has proven to be a suitable replacement, although not near as fast. Here are some pics of my new ride.

My wife decided the same day we bought the Vibe that she needed a new vehicle as well. She fell in love with this 2008 Jeep Liberty. Right after buying it we got a safety recall notice for it. We went to the dealer and they dont have the parts because no one is making them yet! Stupid Chrysler!

Here is my old SAAB. I do miss this car!

Welcome Tom! Nice looking clean silver Vibe you found there. Hopefully it will be a good replacement for your last car. I know how we can get attached to them. I drove my Mustang for 24 years, and while the Vibe is a great substitute, it is not as much fun as my Mustang was, and will be again.

Good luck with the new Vibe!

Welcome to GenVibe Tom :D Nice to see another 09 Vibe GT on this forum ;) Also, nice Toledo built Jeep Liberty 8-) The recalls are the norm for a lot of these cars. Maybe one of my friends didn't assemble something properly when this one went down the line :o You'll get many years of reliability out of your Saab's replacement. Good luck with everything ;)

That is a great looking VIbe. I've always wanted a Saab and came close to getting one a few years back in Lime Green (convertible).

Welcome Tom!
I had a '94 9000 Aero that would push you all the way back into the leather bucket seats with the acceleration! I loved that car but it didn't love me, soooo expensive to maintain and finally the thermometer stuck and overheated the engine. The Vibe isn't as sporty but I'll trade 22 mpg w/ premium for 29 mpg w/ 85 any day! I think you'll find it has plenty of spirit (got to downshift first) for most situations :)
