Upgrading speakers in my girlfriend's 03.

Post by thebornotaku »

So the stock stereo sucks. But we're cheap. Luckily for her, I have the speakers that came out of my Volvo when I upgraded to Focals.

I've got two 6.5" speakers and two 4" speakers. I have no idea what size the Vibe speakers are. Crutchfield says 5.75 and 6.5" speakers fit with adapters, so what kind of adapters should I look in to? I reckon I was gonna put the 6.5"s up front (more midbass/bass, which you want closer to the listener) and then the 4" in the rear doors (because rear speakers are just for fill and don't have to work as hard).

We're already upgrading the headunit to a Kenwood KDC-155U so that's covered.

Anywho, I just wanted to ask what kind of adapters or materials I'll need to fit the 6.5" and 4" speakers in to the doors, so we can upgrade the speakers on the cheap (Read: free).

When you buy from crutchfield, the speakers already come with adapters. In your case I see that you already have speakers. The link below shows that adapter you need from crutchfield.

But I doubt you would be able to fit the 4inch speaker in there tho unless you make a custom one.

Hope this helps.
