I bought a 2003 vibe with similar mileage and a bum transmission for $1500. With a pooched 3rd synchro, you basically have the same thing...

i guess it comes down to someone who knows how to drive a stick or not.

Shifting normally, you could never tell this car has a poo'd synchro. It's only if you are super slow shifting and let it rev down to idle that it won't stay. otherwise, everything is perfectly fine with it. Could drive it another 150k miles and never have it get any worse. If the price goes any lower than 2k i'd probably give it to a family member since it is still a very reliable car to drive.
