Need advice on rust removal

Post by rloftus »

I have an '03 vibe in the gun-metal gray color. I live in upstate, NY and we get a lot of road salt here. I'm starting to get rust on the edges of the doors, in spots on the hood and at the bottom of the lift-gate. Any advice on the best way to attack this problem?

I can do basic maintenance - spark plug changes, oil changes, etc., but I'm a complete newb when it comes to body-work.

Check Eastwood. they have some items in a can for rust. Though a body shop would probably best.

Sand, prime paint

I did the leading edge of my black vibe with truck bed lining...

Check out your local library! They usually are a good resource for "How-To" books on such topics.
