Aluminum Wheel Center Cap

Post by mbavon2222 »

I've seen some older posts but can someone tell me what size center cap for the aluminum wheels on my 2009 Vibe GT? I just noticed yesterday that the Pontiac symbol cap must have fallen off and I am going to need to buy a new one. Thank you. (18" wheels)

Welcome to GenVibe! I'm not sure of the size of the center caps, but the part number for the updated version of the center caps is: #20835338. Go to your local GM dealer or an online GM parts website like GMPartsCenter.net and order yourself a new one. The center caps on both our 2009 Vibe GTs were siliconed in place by the dealer before we took possession of them over 4 years ago. We have not lost a single center cap between our two Vibes over the last 4 years. I have removed them all a couple times to have the tires re-balanced, etc. The silicone comes off very easily and even though the dealer put huge globs of silicone around the edges of all the center caps, only one small dab of silicone on the edge of each center cap is necessary to hold it in place.

Give us more information about your Vibe and post some pictures of it when you get a chance ;)!

Welcome to GenVibe :D Another 09-10 GT owner ..... Awesome ;) Curious as to what color you have :? Post pics when you get a chance & your location. My center caps come out every fall when I remove & store the 18" tires for the winter. I have a designated set of 16" to use and take the abuse of the Ohio/Michigan winters we have around here. Anyways I believe my caps are of the newer type because they snap in very tightly and would be almost impossible for them to fall out. Early 2009's who's were manufactured in early to mid 2008 are the ones that had the problems. My son's Blue 2009 Gt has remnants of silicone on the rim and his build date was in April 2008 so he clearly had the defective ones. Good luck & looking forward to pics of your Vibe GT :D

Ill have to get a few photos of my Vibe up on here once I wash the car. The pollen around here is terrible. Thank you for the reply and the part number for the center caps. That helps a lot.
My 2009 GT is hot metallic red. I love the car. It is fun to drive. Its my second car but some days I use it as my primary commuter (because I just like driving it).I do have a very nice primary car (a 2011 Nissan Maxima SV). My second car I traded for the vibe was a 2004 Subaru Outback. I didn't have as good luck with the Subaru as others claim. My Vibe is a GT so it has the 2.4 engine, 5 speed, Automatic transmission, black interior. It is way nicer than a Subaru. I had to do some unloading of a storage unit this past weekend and was truly amazed at the cargo capacity of the Vibe. It seemed to have more cargo room than my brother's Chevy Trailblazer that he was using. I have always loved Pontiacs (granted this is a Toyota Matrix, but it has Pontiac styling.) My first car was a 1982 Pontiac J2000 SE coupe. I loved that car however, it was a dog as far as speed. I had trouble making it up steep grades. I plan on having the Vibe for many years to come.

By the way I am in the real Upstate NY meaning I'm not just North of NYC. Many people think upstate is Albany, New Rochelle etc. I am in Rochester, NY along the shore of Lake Ontario. Home of the bankrupt Eastman Kodak. I am about 6 or so hours away from NYC and 3.5 hours away from Toronto,Ontario Canada.
