OEM wiper blades 2009+

Mine are 4.5 years old and still work pretty good. Toyota dealer says they are nothing special just have a plastic shroud over a plain old wiper. Id still like to replace them with the same if possible. Anyone got a part number or supplier for OEM vibe wiper blades? 09+ model

On my '09 I replaced mine lock, stock and barrel with the highly rated with the RainX weatherbeaters. Because I am (removed) I did keep the old original (OEM) units. Why, I don't really know.

Careful with buying the aftermarket "beam blades". At highway speeds the driver side will lift off somewhat, right in the line of vision. Its happened with a few different name brands. I just stick with the OEM's because they look good and they work the best (IMO). I just bought 3, two front and one rear. They charged me $12.50 per wiper. A little pricy but they have a good life span.

Here's a post with the part numbers for the rubber inserts, which is all you need to replace if nothing's broken. I'm with you, by the way, the OEM wipers work far better and last longer than any fancy brand name ones I've ever tried. I keep a spare set under the cargo cover by the spare so if I ever need them at inspection time I don't have to go with non-OEM.

I bought inserts from the Toyota dealer for a Matrix. Fit perfectly and still worked great when I traded in.

i've had similar lifting problems with the beam blades that bought. still have 1 more set (couldn't beat the price-2 sets of goodyear beam blades for $18 total.) like others mentioned, i kept my stock blades just in case, and will probably just by refills in the future.

I have never experienced any "lift off" with the beam blades on my Vibe or T&C. Probably never drive over 65 in the rain.

Despite being 3.5-4 years old, they still worked great, but I figured the inserts aren't that expensive so I should probably just go ahead and change them before the winter weather hit. Replacing just the blades takes a little more work, but it's well worth it IMO. As others said, IMO the OEM blades are much better than any aftermarket ones and they also look better. While I had everything apart, I also took the opprotunity to re-paint the wiper blade housings (they were starting to fade a little) and everything looks and works like brand new!

Wth the 04 I tried Rainex and Michilen I beams and hated the big knuckle in the middle. When I got the 09 I went out and got 09 oem's for the 04. They may just be fancy plain style but they look so much better smooth all the way across. I love the easy snap in. Hate those little release tabs on others.

I totally agree with you! I love the look of the 2009-2010 OEM blade housings and they are so much easier to remove than any other vehicle I've ever had.

So you removed the plastic shroud from the OEM wiper and reinstalled it with a new toyota wiper?

Rear Window: 85214-12310

Note the rear wiper rubber element seems to frequently be mis-listed at Toyota dealers (2009 & 10 Matrix) they indicate part # 85214-05110 which is an inch too long. The part number above is actually for a 2008 (Matrix) Vibe but it fits.

So you removed the plastic shroud from the OEM wiper and reinstalled it with a new toyota wiper?

I removed the entire wiper blade assembly (wiper blade housing and wiper blade/insert) from the front and rear wiper arms. I than re-installed new wiper blades/inserts that I got from GM (I was ordering other GM parts so it was actually cheaper for me to order them online from GMPartsCenter.net than through Toyota, but I believe the wiper blades/inserts are typically significantly cheaper through Toyota). You install the new wiper blade/insert along with the original metal rod that supports the blade/insert. It's a bit tedious, but just take your time and it's pretty easy. I also used rubbing alcohol to clean the metal rods before re-installing them along with the new blades/inserts.
