T rated tires

Post by bluegrassdan »

Can I put T rated tires on my 06 vibe awd? Looking at General Evertrek rt's which are cheaper and have a higher mileage rating than the H's. Any recommendations for tires in the $400 range?

All your answers exist at tirerack.com
Do your research there and pick the tire that best fits your quality requirements and budget.

My friend has been riding on Pirelli P4 (T rated) on his 04 matrix for almost 2 years.
No issue, great quality/price ratio.

You can usually go down one letter without problem if you're not a hard driver.

My favorite tire! Not cheap and only T rated, but check the consumer ratings. This is the best all-season tire I have owned when in the snow!

yeah, I have those on my Elantra Touring. They are good. I might even say, very good. However, I disagree with you about the price; I think they are a lot cheaper than the alternative Michelins and are a good value. However, the H727 are not as good on slick roads, nor in snow and ice. The Hankook H727s are also nail magnets. Even Consumer Reports has downgraded their assessment over the past 2 years. I have tried and tried to find a better tire than the Michelin MXV4s, but continue to fail. Although the MXV4 has its issues with hydroplaning in heavy rain after the second year of wear, AND I don't believe I will even come close to matching their warranted wear rating number, it remains the best tire I have ever had on a car, despite the gargantuan price Michelin charges for the tire.
