I think it is great how much stuff you can do with the Vibe. Great pic. Thanks for sharing.

How hard is it to find an add on rack like that for the Vibe? I'm about to shoot the vehicle I carry my boat on, and will need something like that for my Vibe.

It's just a standard Yakima cross bar with towers selected to specifically fit the Vibe. I had the rack before on my Accord so just had to replace the angle bracket on the bottom of the towers. I find that it's easiest to just use the rear bar on the factory rack and a Yakima bar on the front to carry longer loads. You can also get small plastic connectors that fit on the factory rack cross bars so you can attach other Yakima products like bike trays and ski racks.

"You should send that pic to Pontiac, maybe they can use it for a future ad."That would be cool. It would also be cool if they will put that on their website.

Thanks, I haven't had mine on the Vibe yet, and was planning to take a pic when I did, and post it here under a title of "New Full Spoiler" or something like that. I bet your thread title got more people to check it out though.

Then I realized the roof itself has quite a bit of flex. If you insert the hardware at the point where the bar is highest above the roof and push down slightly on the roof surface then there is JUST enough room to slide in the hardware. You have to be very careful not to scratch the roof though. Once in place the hardware will also touch the roof so you need to put something between the two to avoid scratches. I have small pieces of plastic that I put between the hardware and the roof and they seem to do the trick just fine. I bought my Vibe chiefly because it could carry all my recreational toys at a reasonable cost so not putting things on the roof isn't an option. If you are persistent you can make it work! Needless to say I don't take the hardware on/off frequently. Once it's on I leave it there for the season.

My husband and I were taking my parents on a week long trip and he didn't have a boat so he figured what the heck, he'd just make one! Some people are just born with woodworking talent.... It's a 16' Prospector, cedar strip with a fibreglass layup. A bit slow to paddle when loaded because of the short length but the looks more than make up for it!
