Looking to buy a 2007 Vibe - what to watch for?

Post by buba1 »

I am sure other people asked this question, maybe it should be a sticky. (maybe it is)
Looking at a 2007 Vibe FWD, no GT, what should I be looking at?
Does GM use DEX coolant in this car like in all others?
Intake gasket problems, head gasket?

Since it's a Toyota engine, Toyota's Long Life (Pink) coolant is the one you'll want to use.

The intake manifold gasket may cause problems in cold weather, so if that happens, get an orange one from Toyota. I wish I knew the part number specifically so that I could be more helpful, but I'm feeling rather drained and lazy at the moment :P

As for the head gasket, issues with that are not typical as far as I know.

I have a 2006 Vibe FWD Base, and I love it. Runs great and the shifting is really smooth (on the 4-speed automatic) in comparison with my mom's 2008 Mercury Mariner.

Just out of curiosity, what mileage?
