Stereo

Post by pskiinginak »

My son recently pulled out his stock stereo and threw it away. he was playing his stereo and it made a crackling noise. and no more sound after that. We bought him a new stereo, with a wiring harness from crutch field, we hooked up the stereo and it still just makes a crackling sound, and still no music. I pulled all of the door panels and made sure there were no breaks in the wiring, I unplugged each speaker and found that they all worked when directly wired to a portable radio, with the exception of the drivers speaker. I even pulled the passenger seat and made sure there was no fuse for the speakers at the Amp. What we id find is that when we purchased the wiring harness we asked for a four speaker harness and forgot that there are tweeters at the driver and pasengers windows.

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Sounds like the car has the moon & tunes package. I think there is a power lead you have to hook up for the amp. If that is hooked up right, I'll bet that the amp blew or something, not the radio. Good luck.
Somehow, my old ID "trb" was banned......... ?????

Is this problem with just the radio or everything? If just the radio sounds like your atenna amplifer is out you will need to replace your antenna. If its both then not sure but need that info first.
