New to the brd

Hello , new to the brd but not to the vibe , love this car !
I had a 04 , and managed to put 706,000 kms on it .Still runs great and it is still in the family .
I recently grabbed up a 09 gt 5 spd . Wow what a difference the 2.4 makes . Its just what the vibe needed .
Here is a pic ,sorry about the winters I will post a pic when I get the 18's on but it is still winter up here in Halifax .

Nice '09 Vibe! And rolling up 706,000 kms on an '04 Vibe. That's around 438,688 miles!!! And still going. Got any secrets you want to share on keeping a car going that long?

Welcome! That's some impressive mileage. Effectively rolled the odometer 2.5 times, nice! And that's a purdy GT as well. I sometimes wish I'd waited for a GT too since I like the look of the front end better, but I'm probably better off with the reduced weight of the 1SB as my daily driver anyhow.

I got the 09 gt in February , and the the 04 base 5spd I had for 6 years , I also have a 05 AWD auto , (I wish it came as a 5 spd as well) . My step son drives the AWD.
The only problem I had with the 04 was rads I went through 4 of them . Also started to have some electrical issues (no horn , battery light issue ) but it still has the original cv joints , ball joints , struts , went through 1 clutch , 2 sets of tires every year .I drive 400- 500 kms a day so I hope this gt holds up as well as the 04 did .

Just keep the fluids changed , I would change the oil every 2 weeks and the tranny fluid 2 twice a year, k &n Filter was the only mod (panel) .
I should have taken pics before I gave it to my brother in law . It still looked brand new underneath.
I also would run 215 55 16's I felt it gave the car a better stance ,and handled a bit better .

Also, that's a very nice GT you have. Are you driving it just as hard as the 04? What do you do to drive so many miles?

Welcome to GenVibe FINALLY another member with an 09 GT with a manual transmission Gotta love it. When I bought my 09 RED GT almost four years ago, it had to be shipped in from another dealer because there were not many out there with the 5-speed manual. Was worth the wait and I absolutely love it. Junior's Blue 09GT is an automatic (lazy kid ) Post more pics when you get around to it

You need to get all your Vibes, former and present, together for a "family picture". That would be really cool!

Welcome to GenVibe! That's a very sharp looking 2nd gen GT you've got there ! The mileage you racked up on your 2004 Vibe is impressive! As vibolista said, post a family picture or two of all your Vibes past and present when you get a chance !

Oh, and don't worry about still having the winter wheels and tires on your Vibe. Both our 2009 GTs are still wearing them too and probably will be until at least the end of March .

im in the logistics business .
I am all over the maritime provinces .
But I usually drive 4-450 kms a day every day .
yes I use this beast for my job .
I have had it 4 weeks now and its going in for it's 2nd oil change this week .
I just put 11,000 kms in that time

nah I have to keep mileage for taxes . So I have a record of everything .
It stopped 4 years ago . lol

NICE I like knowing that you are driving the identical Vibe GT that I own/drive. Yeah you'll far exceed the mileage that I put on my cars (less than 4000 miles/year ) but at least when a part wears out for you, you can share it with all of us here. Thanks

Hello Pretzel59 and welcome! I agree with you completely about the 2.4L and the stick shift. I've never owned a car that was as much fun - the engine just has so much grunt. I once had an '86 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo (my first new car) and still have a '97 Civic EX auto and a '01 Accord EX 4cyl manual in the family but those have all been sluggish off the line. Not so with the Vibe.

Now, if I could stick that drive train into the Civic what a treat that would be.

OK here are some small mods done so far
HIDS Driving Lights and Low Beams
Led Interior Upgrades
K&N panel Filter
Led Tail and reverse Lights ( oh it is so much fun when you drop one of these in the tail light assembly GRRRRRRRRRRRR)
Future Upgrades
HID High Beam (waiting for the harness to show up )
As far as issues , None so far .Other than someone decided to hit my door with theirs (Bastards)
4th Oil Change and 1 Trans Fluid Change .
Kms to date : Started @ 58,000 kms Now May 7th 2013 - 81,050 Kms

Just curious... what color LEDs do you have i.e. 5000k, 6000k, etc. and where'd you get them from? Do the LEDs in the taillights really make that much of a difference?

These are the ones I got ,

7443/7440 HIGH POWER SAMSUNG LED RED TURN SIGNAL BRAKE TAIL STOP LIGHT BULBS
The HIDs I got from Hong Kong , they want way too much for them up here (at least 2 times what I paid for them)
If you got with them make sure you get 5000 k . That's seems too be the whitest light . Here is a pic of what they look like
Love the HIDs but I am thinking of changing from red led tails to white .Just to get more light from the rear tails . The red seems to be a little dim in the daytime

Nope , same trans just changed the fluid every 50,000 kms
only changed the clutch once
My brother in law is driving it now .
