FM Modulator Power

Post by tokenlocal »

I've ordered and plan to install an FM Modulator so I can listen to my MP3 player or internet radio on my smartphone through the factory stereo on my '07 Vibe. I've done my homework, ordered one that best suits my needs and the antenna adapter. I've even seen a video on YT showing how to get to the back of the stereo to install the modulator and it seems like a fairly simple operation. But, I have one question and need suggestions. What will be the easiest location to get power for the modulator? I haven't done an install in many years and it used to be easy to just splice anything aftermarket to the lighter. Just 2 wires, hot and neutral. I'm sure it's not that easy now. Thanks in advance. . .

You can buy an Add-A-Circuit to make this a lot easier... No splicing required! Just find a circuit switched with the ignition and connect it to that circuit... Find a suitable ground somewhere.. Easy peasy!
