P0133 on a 2006 vibe awd

Post by bluneon »

i'm a toyota certified technician so i have full access to all information through TIS, Techstream software, etc @ my dealership.my vibe recently popped this code. 2 tsb's indicate 2 different possible solutions. p0133 is the ONLY code in the vehicle.1 solution is the intake manifold gasket. this can't possibly be the case because the car doesn't have any other codes AKA p0171 lean running condition, etc.that leaves the second tsb; ECM reflash to updated calibration on 05-06 AWD matrix vehicles.keep in mind that these tsb's are toyota specific tsb's.techstream is able to read the vehicle VIN, model year and what engine it has, but unable to determine if the vehicle is a corolla nor a matrix. i selected matrix.my question: is the updated toyota reflash the same EXACT updated calibration that the local 'pontiac certified' dealership will reflash into a vibe w a similar condition?does anyone know a GM technician who is willing to look up GM specific tsb's on my 2006 pontiac vibe awd concerning this code to cross reference the updated calibration # that i have?if the updated reflash is the exact same between toyota and pontiac then i might as well take care of this myself. i need to make sure first just in case there are slight differences between the 2 updated calibrations.

I've read that TSB and believe the ECUs Matrix and Vibe are identical. The 1st Gen Matix/Vibe DBW (05+) had the same recall. Also all the performace parts, TRD SC piggyback ECUs, are interchange able. Not sure this info helps. Goodluck

been driving for over a year now and no problems. so yes, the reflash fixed the issue.

this is an emissions issue and emissions warranty is 8/80.

chances are if your car isn't expired by age, it will be by mileage so your local gm dealership will charge you for the reflash.
