On my 07 auto base (96K miles) ..when you turn the engine off hot and let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes....its seems to require a fair amount of cranking to get restart. It always starts and cranks over fast. It doesnt fire right off when you hit start. I read somewhere that is normal to protect the engine. Can anyone confirm this and explain how its being protected. thanks.
My '06 kind of does the same thing. It starts in under a second when cold but takes 1-2 seconds when warm. Is that what you're talking about? I never really paid much attention to it.
Mine does the same thing...fires right off cold in the morning. If you shut it off like to get gas...it has to crank awhile. I put new spark plugs in it...no change.
Computer controlled engines deliver extra fuel with a cold engine as a replacement for the old mechanical choke. With hot engine, try Key on, key off, key on before starting to increase available fuel at initial crank. I haven't noticed this slow warm start in My 05 Vibe.
