RPM bouncing

Post by OLimoges »

Hi guys,

I have a problem since Christmas. My 2006 base model vibe have an rpm problem. It's a manual transmission and I have about 101 000 km on it. The problem strated on a cold day -30C, I started my car and waited a little bit so the car gets hot. I was on a stop sing completly stopped. The rpm was bouncing between 1200-2000 rpm, I had the foot on the clutch and the other one on the brake, when I engaged the clutch, the car made a burn (my tire) and was bouncing on and off.
Now it does it when i'm in neutral but my car is still moving.

The problem is that now it does it every time it's cold (under 0C) and I went to my garagist and the problem never abeard and the computer said nothing :S

What do you thing the problem is ?

Tks a lot :)

Could be the intake manifold gasket. The factory ones deteriorate over time and start to leak. Toyota released an updated version to replace it.
Are you throwing any CEL codes ?
